Analysis Republicans

Are All Republicans Bad?
No. Most are reasonable people, and there are even some Republicans with a decent amount of integrity, like John McCain for example. The problem is with the extremists, the radical right-wing and neoconservative Republicans who exert so much influence in the Bush administration. They have an agenda that is in direct conflict with traditional American values of freedom, liberty, democracy, and human rights, and they're on a mission to rape, pillage, and plunder the greatness of America for their own personal gain.

There are two main ideological beliefs that characterize this group. First, they believe America has the God-given right to conquer and dominate the world. This is most evident in the neoconservatives that control the Pentagon, many of whom are members of the Project for the New American Century, a right-wing think tank that advocates US imperialism, world domination, and control of strategic resources like Middle Eastern oil. Since the 1990's these people have been pushing their plan to overthrow six to seven countries in the Middle East (starting with Iraq, then Iran, Syria, and more - sound familiar?), privatize their oil industries, and build permanent US military bases. They were entirely behind the push to invade Iraq, which had absolutely nothing to do with WMDs. The WMD "intelligence" was bogus, merely a means of scaring the American people (and hopefully the rest of the world) into going along with their plan.

The second prominent ideological belief in this extremist group is the belief that their way of life and their belief systems are the only "right" ones and they have not only a God-given right to force their beliefs and their way of life onto others, but a duty to do so. This is closely related to the first prominent belief, as both involve the forcing of one's will onto others (a fundamentally disrespectful viewpoint, I might point out, and one that inherently devalues "life" in the sense that it places little or no value on other's right to live their lives as they choose). This particular attitude is most pronounced in the so-called "religious right," who claim to be Christians while happily embracing non-Christian practices like bigotry and discrimination. They also frequently utilize illogical, even nonsensical, language and arguments in their effort to force others to live according to their ways, and their approach often involves denying or taking away the rights of others. Examples include the anti-abortion and anti-same-sex marriage agendas that this group pushes so forcefully. It's simple enough to say that if you don't want to marry a person of the same sex, then don't marry a person of the same sex. No one is forcing anyone to marry a person of the same sex. But that isn't good enough for this group. They will advance irrational arguments about things like "saving traditional marriage" or "defending marriage" when in fact, absolutely no one is proposing the elimination of traditional marriage, so there's nothing to save it or defend it from. It's all part of an effort to create a false threat so that the "Christian soldiers" can be rallied to the "defense."
